His baptism name was Joseph Duncan.1 Leslie Fraser Duncan was born on 6 October 1821 at Blairnhall, Birnie, Morayshire, Scotland.1 He was proprietor of the Matrimonial News.1 He married Hon. Charlotte Bateman-Hanbury, daughter of William Bateman-Hanbury, 1st Baron Bateman of Shobdon and Elizabeth Chichester, on 7 June 1890.1 Leslie Fraser Duncan he lost an action for breach of promise of marriage brought by a Miss Gladys Knowles (aged 22), who was awarded £10,000 damages in 1891.1 He died in 1913.1
